i like you as a friend jewelry founders and designers are Kate Coats of Greenpoint, Brooklyn and Cristalle Stutrud of Astoria, Queens. They met in 2006 at Kate’s wedding, when she borrowed Cristalle’s tiara. By the end of the year, they were running a boutique in Nolita together. They realized they wanted to not just work together, but create together and started silk screening fabrics and stationary, sewing and knitting. They had individually designed and created everything from housewares to clothing and accessories all of their lives, so it only made sense to join forces. They began making jewelry from reclaimed vintage materials, and eventually grew into casting their own charms.

i like you as a friend jewelry pieces are inspired mostly by Cristalle’s and Kate’s mutual love of all things vintage, but also their adoration of cuddly creatures, and their shared snarky and sometimes wicked senses of humor.

Their newest line is called The Petting Zoo and features some of the most sweet and precious pieces yet.

As a child, New York native Georgia Varidakis whiled away the time in her father’s shoe repair, experimenting with scraps and buckles to make bracelets. She released her first clothing line in 2002, mixing vintage fabrics and jewelry components. Her delicate, romantic jewelry is hand crafted here in New York City, and we are thrilled to share it with you!

Elizabeth Knight Jewelry is the creation of Savannah College of Art and Design grad Elizabeth Knight, who combines the tough and delicate in her offbeat metalwork. A true original!

Brooklyn’s  Species by the Thousands, launched in 2006 by Erica Bradbury, combines drawing and painting to create t-shirts and accessories inspired by the natural world. Using sustainable materials, Species by the Thousands believes in an eco friendly approach to design. We are delighted to introduce you to the Species by the Thousands world of foxes, wolves, cougars, moons, witchcraft and bearded men!

Laura Lombardi is a small, eponymous collection of jewelry made from carefully selected vintage and repurposed materials. Each piece is crafted by hand in Chicago, Illinois.

LIBER New York debuted in July 2010 with much buzz for its “quirky and fun designs” that are “above all, current.” With its sophomore collection, LIBER Creative Director Juhea Kim reinterpretes modern menswear with “an enchanting state of mind.”
